Climate change is preoccupying people's minds at the individual and collective level and is considered one of the most important issues of the current era because of its threat to the very existence of humanity and its impact not only on human life, but various aspects of environmental, economic and social life.

In this context, fraught with the threat of life, comes Hassan Abbas' book entitled “Do You Have Other Problems”.

In the author's view, climate change is one of the most serious issues on our global scene, and all countries must join hands to confront the effects of these changes, as they will affect the lives of millions of people during the coming period.

The author says that the book, which is published in both Arabic and English by Dar Al-Farida for Applications and Technological Innovations, presents bold and unprecedented theses aimed at solving all climate problems, including:

  • Developing solutions to the disaster of sinking islands and coastal cities due to melting ice.
  • Eliminating the problem of forest fires.
  • Eliminating water scarcity and increasing the amount of sustainable fresh water on the planet.
  • Eliminating desertification and drought.
  • Ending famine and food shortage worldwide.
  • Reducing the percentage of carbon while continuing to use fossil fuels.

The book also discusses the fundamental challenges we still face today. In this regard, the writer believes that these problems are not related to a technological or intellectual deficit, but to a lack of the political will required to confront climate change. He also argues that Africa must take its place among the developed nations, with the need to resolve food shortages, desertification, drought, water scarcity, and illegal immigration.

Abbas points out that choosing Egypt to host and organize the COP27 climate summit in 2022 is an expression of full confidence in Egypt's ability not only to successfully organize this global summit with such a huge number of participants from all over the world, including leaders and experts, but also Egypt's ability to lead international efforts in dealing with climate change and its effects.
