Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week focuses on transforming promises into actions ahead COP28
Abu Dhabi is hosting the 2023 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), a big gathering that aims to provide international solutions that help achieve climate sustainability, in the period from January 14 to 19.
This year, the week’s events shed light on transforming promises to preserve climate into actions and concrete outcomes under the slogan “#UnitedonClimateAction” to pave the road towards the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) due to convene in Dubai from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
The ADSW Summit gathered heads of states and governments, stakeholders, industry leaders and entrepreneurs around the globe on January 15-16 to discuss net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
“More than ever, it is critical that the world’s leaders across business, government, and civil society come together to address the most pressing issue of our time: climate change. That is why Masdar, as host of ADSW, is bringing together leaders from around the world at the ADSW Summit 2023. We look forward to hosting one of the most impactful and significant ADSW Summits to date, while marking the first physical ADSW since 2020,” said Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, which is hosting the event.
Also, the week hosts the first annual Green Hydrogen Summit this year on January 18.
Key ADSW 2023 events:
• 14-15 January: IRENA Assembly, Atlantic Council Energy Forum
• 16 January: Opening Ceremony, COP28 Strategy Announcement and Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony, ADSW Summit
• 16-18 January: World Future Energy Summit, Youth 4 Sustainability Hub, Innovate
• 17 January: WiSER Forum

Last year, 500 global speakers from 170 countries participated in the week virtually and in-person.
