Marburg: Incurable disease hits 2 African countries amid fears of its spread

Equatorial Guinea announced on Feb. 13 its first-ever outbreak of Marburg virus disease (MVD). Two cases were also detected in Cameroon’s Olamze, on the border with Equatorial Guinea. Marburg is a “highly infectious” disease that causes a fatality ratio of up to 88%, said the WHO.
