To etch their names in memories, a sand sculpture of 17 names of children who were killed by Israeli forces during the last Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip was made on a beach in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

The Gaza group, in cooperation with 29 media and human rights institutions held this event to display the 100-meter-long sand sculpture under the title “The Occupation Kills Childhood”, according to a statement from the group.

Their names were made in Arabic with the three colors of the Palestinian flag (red, green and black), while other children were bearing placards of the martyred children’s photos and names.

In a speech, child Nadia Abdel-Latif, one of survivors of the Israeli aggression, called upon the international community to hold Israel accountable for its war crimes and for depriving Gazan children of their right to live their childhood, the statement added.

Israeli forces started airstrikes on August 5 against the Gaza Strip to target members of the Islamic Jihad Movement. The Israeli aggression lasted for three days and killed 49 Palestinian people, including 17 children, and injured hundreds of others, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
