Father beats his 4-year-old child to death for losing drugs in Egypt
A four-and-a-half-year-old boy was beaten to death by his father over losing drugs in the Mediterranean city of Port Said, local media reported on Thursday.
The father, who is a drug addict, beat his child with a metal tool, causing him a brain hemorrhage and a fracture of the skull, leading to the child’s death.
According to the initial investigations, as the father’s relatives confessed, the father was forcing his child to go to a drug dealer to buy him drugs because the father was an ex-felon. However, when the child lost the drugs while he was walking in the street, the father beat his son unconscious.
“My husband carried his son, Marwan, to the hospital as he was in a dangerous condition. There he [the father] claimed that he [the child] fell off the bike,” said the mother in an interview with Masrawy news website on Thursday.
The child remained in the intensive care unit (ICU) for 12 days, during which the mother was prevented from seeing him, she added.
“I saw him only while he was in the mortuary refrigerator after his death,” she said.
When the child was admitted to the ICU at Al-Nasr Hospital in Port Said, he was suffering severe injuries and bruises on the head and body.
“I wish my son comes back to my hugs and kisses. I wish I could hear ‘Mama’ from him. My son was an angel. H was not a child,” she continued in a crying voice.
“I don’t want my husband to be imprisoned. [Instead] I want him to be tortured as he tortured my son before his death. [Please] torture him before his execution,” she added.
Afterward, the police arrested the father, and the prosecution ordered his detention for four days pending the investigations.
