The Jusoor International Center for Media and Development is organizing an international workshop, in cooperation with the Arab-European Forum for Dialogue and Human Rights, on Monday at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.

The workshop, which comes on the sidelines of the 54th session of the United Nations International Human Rights Council, discusses issues related to human rights in the digital world. It also touches upon the future challenges facing the process of advancing the human rights system and its legislation in light of the growing effects of the digital world.

International and regional experts concerned with human rights, artificial intelligence, and modern digital technologies will participate in the workshop, in addition to specialists in digital justice issues, which is considered one of the most complicated challenges facing the world in terms of anticipating the future of human rights. The workshop addresses international agreements and obligations related to human rights. The experts discuss the United Nations’ plan for human rights in the digital world, which is being framed based on the vision of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the International Human Rights Council.

The workshop will be held under the title “Human Rights in the Digital World” with wide participation from representatives of international organizations and civil society institutions included in UN’s 54th session, which began in Geneva on September 11 and ends on October 13, in addition to a number of stakeholders and media influencers.

According to the head of Jusoor International, Mohammed Al-Hammadi, the workshop topic was chosen in light of the strategy pursued by Jusoor International, which tackles various specific human rights issues that affect the regional and international human rights system.
