President William Ruto says change aims to boost trade and allow goods, services, people, and ideas to move freely across the continent.

As part of a push to promote trade and travel inside the continent, other African people will no longer need a visa to enter Kenya as of the next year.

"No African will need a visa to enter Kenya by the end of this year," declared William Ruto, the president of Kenya, during a climate change summit in Congo-Brazzaville.

High plane prices and expensive, time-consuming visa procedures have long prevented African passport holders from travelling within their own continent; 32 of 54 African countries still require their citizens to obtain visa.
